Valentine's Day Tradition for Kids

Every holiday I try to find new ways to surprise the kids. A few years ago I found a cute one for Valentine's Day thanks to Pinterest!

Starting February 1, put a heart on your child's bedroom door, leading up to Valentine's Day (or you can do it for the whole month!), with a written quote or compliment! It's so easy and very inexpensive. Here are some tips:

  1. Purchase red heart cutouts preferably on cardstock paper. Make sure to buy or order before February 1! Click here for options from Amazon and Target!

  2. You can also make them yourself by cutting hearts out of cardstock or construction paper.

  3. Use a sharpie so your written messages don't smear.

  4. I recommend writing on all of them before February 1st so they're prepped and ready.

  5. Set an alarm to tape them to your child's door every night (when they're asleep) so you don't forget.

  6. Use painters tape! That way it it won't damage their door.

  7. You can save all of them for the following year but I like to start fresh since they will have new achievements.

  8. You can find everything you need by clicking here.

Every morning my kids wake up and try to find the new message for the day. It's a good way to boost their confidence and put a smile on their face. I'd love to start my day with a positive affirmation too!
