Fudgy Nutella Cookies with Sea Salt

I have been making this recipe since 2012 and it's always a favorite, especially around the holidays.

My kids LOOOOOOVE Nutella. I'm pretty strict about what my kids eat as far as sugar intake and processed foods but every now and then we get to enjoy some treats and this is one they request. I found it on the website Ambitious Kitchen.

“These are best served a tiny bit warm. And obviously adding the sea salt is crucial.” - Monique. Ambitious Kitchen

Yes! The sea salt is crucial but I do my own variation which is I only let them stay in the oven for 8 minutes. I promptly take them out and let them finish baking for another minute on the cookie sheet and then I place them on a cooling rack. Make sure you add the course sea salt right away!

Fudgy Nutella Cookie Recipe

I literally quadruple this recipe so that I can share with friends and family. They are so easy to make! It only takes 20-30 minutes.

Ingredients:

1 cup Nutella

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup flour + 1 tablespoon

Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Combine all ingredients besides salt in a large bowl with electric mixer until well combined. Place dough in freezer for 10 minutes.

  3. After 10 minutes roll dough into approximately 1-inch balls, place on un-greased baking sheet at least two inches apart and bake for 8-10 minutes (as mentioned above, I remove them from the oven after 8 minutes and let them cook for another minute on the cookie sheet.)

  4. Transfer to a baking rack to cool and generously sprinkle with sea salt.

  5. Enjoy and if you so desire... share!
