A FRESH START

I'm celebrating the new year and new decade by getting rid of the clutter we accumulated over the holidays and organizing our life including our diet and schedules. But first I'm starting with the pantry...

We want to stay on a healthy diet so in order to do that we went through everything in the pantry and got rid of most of the junk that we bought over the holidays (I spy a caramel popcorn bag I need to throw away because it's left over from a party and probably stale.) Our goal is to grocery shop more frequently but only for the items that we need that day/ week which means I'll be buying for the recipes I find and not just stuff that will end up sitting around.

“Being organized isn't about getting rid of everything you own or trying to become a different person. It's about living the way you want to live, but better.” - Andrew Mellen

The kids have their snacks that they are welcome to get any time. I'm pretty strict about not letting them eat anything with food dyes, corn syrup or any other artificial flavors.

What I use to keep organized.

I found most of the containers and baskets at #HomeGoods but I also went to #Target. #Amazon is full of options! Click on the photos below to find the product and pricing. These are very similar to what I have in my pantry. They Pop&Lock containers are great for the #kids because they are plastic and easy to open and close. They also keep food fresh. The plastic storage bins are great for snacks like fruit pouches, granola bars and other pre-packages items.

There is still a lot I want to do with this pantry! We need to repaint. I want a fun wallpaper, a new light fixture and new flooring. #nobigdeal #itwillhappenatsomepoint

TIP: Keep all of the kids snack bins on the lower shelves so it's easier for them to reach.

Here is what my pantry looked like before...
